Outdoor lovers head northeast
of Cambridge to enjoy the largest state park in Ohio. Salt Fork
State Park spans an impressive 20,000 acres, and includes a 148
room lodge, 54 family cottages, and a 3,000 acre lake for water
recreation. If water sports are your fancy, there is also Seneca
Lake, one of 10 lakes in the Muskingum Watershed District.
Cambridge is proud of its two theatrical enterprises, The Living
Word outdoor drama, portraying the passion of Christ, and the Cambridge
Performing Arts Center, featuring local talent productions. The
Cambridge Concert Association and the Pritchard-Laughlin Civic Center
host important and entertaining productions.
Annual traditions include
the Salt Fork Arts and Crafts Festival (second weekend of August),
the Ohio Hills Festival (mid July) Cambridge's Hopalong Cassidy
Festival and Oktoberfest.
The 57-acre Cambridge
City Park is the crown jewel of the city. Built around a pond, it
incorporates tennis courts, ball fields, playgrounds, basketball
courts, skateboarding facilities, picnic tables and a state-of-the-art
swimming pool. |
